Each artist at In Katharsis works independently and manages their own bookings, deposits, pricing and schedule. Some details may vary between artists, but the following policy applies across the studio as a general standard.
Appointments are held specifically for each client. Time is set aside, preparation is completed and other clients may be turned away once an appointment has been secured.
We understand that life happens and will always do our best to be fair and respectful. In return, we ask that clients respect the time, planning and work involved in every appointment.
Deposits are required to secure tattoo appointments and are non-refundable.
If you cancel, reschedule with insufficient notice, arrive unprepared, arrive too late or do not attend, your deposit may be forfeited. A new deposit may be required before another appointment is offered.
At least 72 hours’ notice is required to reschedule an appointment.
When enough notice is provided, your deposit may be transferred to a new appointment with the same artist. This is at your artist’s discretion.
If less than 72 hours’ notice is given, your deposit may be forfeited and a new deposit may be required to book again.
If you choose to cancel your appointment, your deposit will not be refunded.
Depending on the amount of notice provided and the circumstances, your artist may decide whether the deposit can be transferred to a future booking.
Short-notice cancellations and changes affect the artist’s schedule and cannot always be filled by another client.
If you significantly change your tattoo idea before or on the day of your appointment, your artist may need to reschedule your booking.
A new deposit may be required if the original appointment time is no longer suitable for the new design, size, placement or preparation involved.
Small changes may be possible on the day, depending on the design and time available. This is at your artist’s discretion.
If you arrive unprepared and your appointment cannot proceed, your deposit may be forfeited and a new deposit may be required to rebook.
This may include:
Arriving without valid photo ID
Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Being unwell
Having fake tan on the area being tattooed
Bringing guests who have not been approved
Failing to follow the preparation instructions
Please read the Preparation page before attending your appointment.
If you are running late, please contact your artist as soon as possible.
Arriving more than 15 minutes late without contact may result in your appointment being cancelled and your deposit forfeited.
If the appointment can still proceed, your tattoo may need to be adjusted to suit the remaining time. This is at your artist’s discretion.
A no-show occurs when a client does not attend their appointment and does not contact their artist beforehand.
No-shows result in the loss of the deposit. Clients who do not attend without notice may not be offered future appointments at In Katharsis.
Repeated rescheduling, cancellations or poor communication may also affect your ability to book future appointments.
Please do not attend if you are unwell, contagious, have a fever or infection, or if your body is feeling significantly run down.
Contact your artist as soon as possible if you are unwell or unable to attend.
We understand that genuine emergencies can happen. These situations will be considered individually, but clear and timely communication is still required wherever possible.
Your artist will decide whether your deposit can be transferred based on the notice provided, circumstances and communication.
If your artist needs to reschedule due to illness, an emergency or unavoidable circumstances, they will contact you as soon as possible.
Your deposit will remain attached to your appointment and another time will be arranged with you directly.
Final decisions regarding deposits, rescheduling, cancellations and future bookings remain at the discretion of the individual artist and the studio.
This allows each situation to be handled fairly while protecting the time, energy, preparation and work involved in every appointment.
We value our clients and understand that life happens. Thank you for communicating clearly and respecting our time, our work and the space we are continuing to create.
