Each artist at In Katharsis works independently and manages their own bookings, pricing, session structure and availability.
Deposit amounts may vary depending on the artist, appointment type, tattoo size, session length and preparation required. Your chosen artist will confirm the correct deposit amount and payment details when offering you an appointment.
While deposit amounts may vary, the following deposit policy applies across the studio.
A deposit is required to secure your tattoo appointment.
Once an appointment is offered, that time is held specifically for you. Your artist plans their schedule around your booking, begins any necessary preparation and may turn away other clients for that appointment time.
Deposits help protect the artist’s time and preparation while ensuring appointments are held for clients who are ready to commit to their booking.
Your appointment is not confirmed until your deposit has been paid and accepted by your artist.
Once an appointment time has been arranged, your deposit must be paid within 24 hours. If it is not received within this timeframe, the appointment will be released and may be offered to another client.
Any alternative payment timeframe must be discussed and agreed upon directly with your artist.
Deposit amounts may vary between artists and may depend on the appointment type, tattoo size, session length and preparation involved.
Your artist will confirm the required amount before your booking is secured.
Your deposit is deducted from the final price of your tattoo.
For a single-session tattoo, it will be deducted from the total cost of that appointment.
For larger or multi-session tattoos, it will usually be deducted from the final session unless your artist has arranged otherwise with you.
All deposits are non-refundable.
If you cancel, change your mind, do not attend, arrive too late, arrive unprepared or fail to follow the booking requirements, your deposit may be forfeited.
Your deposit secures appointment time and helps cover the planning and preparation involved in your booking.
If you need to reschedule, at least 72 hours’ notice is required.
When enough notice is provided, your deposit may be transferred to a new appointment with the same artist. This is at your artist’s discretion.
If less than 72 hours’ notice is given, your deposit may be forfeited and a new deposit may be required before another appointment can be booked.
Deposits are attached to the client, artist and appointment for which they were paid.
They cannot be transferred to another person or used for someone else’s tattoo, appointment or booking.
Because each artist works independently, deposits are not automatically transferable between artists. If you choose to change artists after paying a deposit, this must be discussed directly and may require a new deposit.
If you significantly change your tattoo idea, size, placement or direction after booking, your artist may need to reschedule your appointment.
A new deposit may be required if the original appointment time is no longer suitable for the new design or the preparation involved.
Small changes may be possible depending on the artist, design and time available.
If you arrive unprepared and your appointment cannot proceed, your deposit may be forfeited and a new deposit may be required to rebook.
This may include:
Arriving without valid photo ID
Being under the influence of drugs or alcohol
Being unwell
Having fake tan on the area being tattooed
Bringing guests who have not been approved
Failing to follow the preparation instructions
Please read the Preparation page before attending your appointment.
If you are running late, please contact your artist as soon as possible.
If you are more than 15 minutes late without contacting your artist, your appointment may be cancelled and your deposit forfeited.
No-shows result in the loss of the deposit. Clients who do not attend without notice may not be offered future appointments at In Katharsis.
If your artist needs to reschedule due to illness, an emergency or unavoidable circumstances, your deposit will remain attached to your appointment.
Your artist will contact you as soon as possible to arrange another appointment time.
Final decisions regarding deposits, transfers, rescheduling, cancellations and future bookings remain at the discretion of the individual artist and the studio.
This allows each situation to be handled fairly while protecting the time, preparation and work involved in every appointment.
Thank you for understanding and respecting the commitment that goes into preparing for your tattoo.
