Cancellations, Reschedules and No-Shows

At In Katharsis, each artist works independently and manages their own bookings, deposits, pricing and schedule.

Because of this, some details may vary slightly between artists. However, the following policy applies across the studio as a general standard.

Appointments are held specifically for each client. Time is set aside, preparation is done, and other clients may be turned away once that appointment has been secured.

We understand that things can happen, and we will always do our best to be fair and respectful. At the same time, we ask that clients respect the time, planning and work that goes into each appointment.

Deposits and Appointment Changes

Deposits are required to secure tattoo appointments and are non-refundable.

If you need to reschedule, your deposit may be transferred to a new appointment when enough notice is given. This is at your artist’s discretion.

If you cancel, reschedule with short notice, arrive unprepared, arrive too late, or do not attend your appointment, your deposit may be forfeited.

A new deposit may be required before another appointment is offered.

Rescheduling Your Appointment

If you need to reschedule your appointment, at least 72 hours’ notice is required.

If enough notice is given, your deposit may be transferred to your new appointment time, at your artist’s discretion.

If less than 72 hours’ notice is given, your deposit may be forfeited and a new deposit may be required to book again.

Cancelling Your Appointment

If you choose to cancel your appointment, your deposit is not refunded.

Depending on the notice given and the circumstances, your artist may choose whether your deposit can be transferred to a future booking.

This is at the discretion of the artist.

Short-Notice Changes

Short-notice changes affect the artist’s schedule and are not always able to be filled.

If you need to change your appointment with less than 72 hours’ notice, your deposit may be forfeited.

A new deposit may be required before another appointment is offered.

Changing Your Tattoo Idea

If you change your tattoo idea significantly before or on the day of your appointment, your artist may need to reschedule your booking.

A new deposit may be required if the original appointment time is no longer suitable for the new design, size, placement or amount of preparation needed.

Small changes may be possible on the day, depending on the design and time available. This is at your artist’s discretion.

Arriving Unprepared

If you arrive unprepared for your appointment, your artist may decide the appointment cannot go ahead.

This may include arriving without valid photo ID, being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, having fake tan on the area, being unwell, bringing unapproved guests, or not following pre-appointment instructions.

In these cases, your deposit may be forfeited and a new deposit may be required to rebook.

Running Late

Please contact your artist as soon as possible if you are running late.

If you are more than 15 minutes late without contact, your appointment may be cancelled and your deposit forfeited.

If you are late and the appointment can still go ahead, your tattoo may need to be adjusted to suit the remaining time.

This is at your artist’s discretion.

No-Shows

A no-show means you do not attend your appointment and do not contact your artist beforehand.

No-shows result in the loss of your deposit.

Clients who no-show may not be offered future appointments at In Katharsis.

This is at the discretion of the artist and the studio.

Repeated Reschedules or Cancellations

Repeated rescheduling, cancelling or poor communication may affect your ability to book future appointments.

We want the booking process to feel respectful and fair for everyone, including the artists, clients and the studio as a whole.

Illness, Emergencies and Unavoidable Circumstances

Please do not attend your appointment if you are unwell, contagious, have a fever, infection, or if your body is run down.

If you are unwell, contact your artist as soon as possible.

We understand that genuine emergencies can happen. These situations will be considered case by case, but clear and timely communication is still required wherever possible.

Your artist will decide whether your deposit can be transferred based on the timing, circumstances and communication.

If Your Artist Needs to Reschedule

If your artist needs to reschedule due to illness, emergency or unavoidable circumstances, they will contact you as soon as possible.

Your deposit will remain attached to your appointment and a new time will be arranged with you directly.

Artist and Studio Discretion

Final decisions around deposits, rescheduling, cancellations and future bookings are at the discretion of the individual artist and the studio.

This allows each situation to be handled fairly while still protecting the time, preparation and work involved in each appointment.

Respecting the Booking Process

This policy exists to protect the time, energy and preparation that goes into each appointment.

We value our clients deeply and understand that life happens, but clear communication is important.

Thank you for respecting our time, our work and the space we are continuing to create.
