Jake Eves

Jake is a professional tattoo artist working from In Katharsis in Mildura, Victoria, with 18 years of experience in the tattoo industry.

Local to Mildura, Jake has built a strong reputation over many years through his tattooing, client relationships and contribution to the local tattoo industry. He was also the co-owner of Rogue City in Mildura for 8 years, where he continued to grow as an artist and helped guide many aspiring tattoo artists through their apprenticeships.

Throughout his career, Jake has received numerous awards through interstate tattoo competitions and has taken part in tattoo conventions across Australia. He has also been voted Mildura’s number one tattoo artist in a Herald Sun poll, and has been invited to work within high-end studios both in Australia and overseas.

Jake’s preferred style is large black and grey realism, with a strong focus on detail, contrast and dramatic effect. He enjoys creating bold, custom pieces that are designed with each client and their idea in mind.

While black and grey realism is a strong focus, Jake enjoys all styles of art and is happy to take on a wide range of tattoo work. From Japanese-inspired pieces and illustrated florals to simple script, smaller tattoos or larger projects, he works with clients to create something that suits the person and the piece.

Jake welcomes both big and small projects, and values clear communication throughout the process so each client feels confident in the direction of their tattoo.

Jake and Shaun may also offer collaborative tattoo sessions for selected large-scale pieces. These sessions involve both artists tattooing at the same time, allowing larger work to be completed in less time. This can make bigger projects more efficient and, in some cases, more affordable.
Collaborative pieces are considered case-by-case and depend on the design, placement, availability, and whether the project is suited to both artists working together.
